Are You Experiencing Burnout?
Am I Experiencing Burnout?
- Emotional, physical, and mental fatigue
- Feeling hopeless
- A sense of reduced accomplishment or loss of personal identity
- A lack of job satisfaction
- Dragging yourself to work
- Becoming cyncial or critical at work
- Impatience
- Brain fog and difficutly concentrating
- Intense and fluctuating emotions
- Forgetfulness
- Aches and pains
Knowing the signs of burnout, along with recognizing your personal response to stress and distress, is crucial.
Pay attention to how long your symptoms last. Are they ongoing? Are they intense? How much are they affecting your daily life? It may be a good idea to consider reaching out to a professional for help.
Be mindful of external signals indicating potential issues. Experiencing a heavy workload, working long hours, and facing challenges in maintaining a work-life balance may result in burnout. Engage in conversations about your worries with a trusted colleague. Seeking support can possibly lead to adjusting expectations. Coping mechanisms and gaining perspective can be sought through the assistance of friends or family members. Incorporating regular cardiovascular exercises, maintaining consistent sleep patterns, and practicing breathing exercises can be beneficial in managing the situation.
If you're already experiencing burnout, you must make a change. Regrettably, time and time again, individuals persist in burning out instead of taking action. Overcoming the fear of change is a hurdle that needs to be addressed. (Texas Realtor - December 2023)
